Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light

After the Age of Science collapses on Prysmos, knights bind themselves to totems of Magical Light. Spectral Knights follow Leoric’s lion. Darkling Lords follow Darkstorm’s mollusk and a creed of domination. Hologram animals leap from chest plates. The show is Arthurian after the power grid dies.

How they stand to one another

Leoric

Spectral Knight leader

A noble-faced man in his thirties with brown hair, a trimmed beard or strong clean jaw (the toy: bearded leader), and a lion-helm option. Blue-and-gold armor, a chest hologram of a lion. He is the most kingly of the Knights: broad, upright, warm brown eyes. Fair-tanned skin. He looks like a mayor of the new age who can still hold a staff of power.

Honorable, sometimes too trusting, the moral center. Leads Witterquick, Cryotek, Galadria; Darkstorm is his dark reflection.

Darkstorm

Darkling Lord leader

A hawkish, goateed man with cruelly handsome features, dark hair, pale skin, and armor in black, purple, and iron. His totem is a molluscan horror on the chest. He is leaner than Leoric, more theatrical, a villain’s posture. Eyes are cold. He looks like he enjoyed the Age of Science’s hierarchies and intends to rebuild them with spells.

Tyrannical, witty, allergic to equals. Opposes Leoric; commands the Darkling Lords against Witterquick and Cryotek; would use Galadria as a lesson.

Witterquick

Spectral Knight · speed

A lean, youthful knight with a sharp face, lighter brown hair, and armor built for motion—cheetah totem. He is slighter than Cryotek, almost a runner even standing still. Eager eyes. Fair skin. The hologram animal is a sprint. He looks like the youngest of the principal Knights without being a child.

Impatient, brave, comic in his haste, loyal. Leoric’s fast blade; spars with Cryotek; Darkstorm is a wall he wants to outrun; Galadria is a comrade.

Galadria

Spectral Knight

The primary woman of the Knights: athletic, with blonde or light brown hair, a determined pretty face, and armor that matches the Spectral set rather than a bikini-plate. Totem associated with a dolphin in some materials; we use knightly armor with a water-creature hologram on the chest. Fair skin, steady eyes. She looks like a soldier, not a princess accessory.

Courageous, team-minded, refuses Darkstorm’s world. Equal among Leoric’s knights; Witterquick’s peer; Cryotek’s friend; Darkstorm’s contempt slides off her.

Cryotek

Spectral Knight · strength

A massive, red-bearded or red-haired knight, bear totem, the physically largest of the fellowship. Broad face, kind eyes in a warrior’s skull, pale-northern skin, armor heavier than Witterquick’s. He looks like a kind giant. The hologram bear is his second body. Hands are huge.

Gentle until he is not, simple in speech, complex in loyalty. Leoric’s strength; brotherly with Witterquick; respects Galadria; Darkstorm would love to break him for the sound it would make.

Visual language

1987 Sunbow holographic-toy cartoon: metallic armor with a plastic gleam, hard-edged hologram animals in cyan/magenta, post-tech medieval architecture, slightly pastel skies. Faces are noble-cartoon. Darkling Lords use more purple-black; Spectral Knights more blue-gold.

Hologram glow as key light, three-sun daylight, castle-torch for plots. Cel animation, toy hologram flicker, stone and rusted science, 80s fantasy-sci-fi grain.
